Greg Barton is a lifelong resident of Douglas County and has been practicing law since 1999. He has served as an Assistant District Attorney in both Douglas and Cobb County. As an Assistant District Attorney, Greg was responsible for the prosecution of hundreds of felony cases. In 2001, Greg was appointed to be Douglas County's first Solicitor General. The Solicitor General and his office is responsible for prosecuting all cases brought before the State Court. Greg was re-elected to this office twice by the citizens of Douglas County. In addition to the Georgia Bar Association, Greg has been admitted to practice law before the Georgia Supreme Court and the Georgia Court of Appeals.

You only have TEN business days from the date of your DUI to act in order to request a hearing to keep your driver's license. When it comes to DUI, you need an attorney who is knowledgable and experienced in the Georgia DUI laws. The possibility of keeping your driver's license is a very important part of the process, and if not handled in a very timely matter, you could chance losing your license for up to one year. Our office is here to help make sure that your request for an administrative hearing is mailed and filed in the proper time frame, provided that you act within the designated time frame upon receiving the DUI. The State of Georgia has also adopted a ten-year "look back" period for the imposition of minimum mandatory punishment. A fourth offense in ten years could possibly be a felony.
